To be clear, this article focuses on Diablo 4 connection issues of all types, with official steps on how to fix them, which aren't nearly as difficult as getting a Unique item drop.

How To Fix Diablo 4 Disconnections/High Latency

It is always recommended that you first check your internet connection to see if there isn't any kind of issues with your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Also, use a LAN cable to connect your PC or console directly to your router instead of using Wi-Fi, if possible.

Blizzard has provided Diablo 4 players with official steps to fix connection/disconnection issues alongside high latency troubles. Check them out below:

  • Close all other applications to resolve software conflicts and free up resources.
  • Reset your network devices, which can resolve numerous problems
  • If you're using a wireless connection, optimize your internet connection to rule out a connection issue.
  • Update or temporarily uninstall any security programs, which may mistakenly identify the login module as a security threat.
  • Release and renew your IP and flush your DNS to resolve any network conflicts.
  • Disable any proxies that may interfere with the login module.
  • Update your drivers and operating system to resolve any compatibility issues.

    • The developer also noted that you should contact Blizzard Customer Support if you run into any Diablo 4 issues. 

    Diablo 4 Launch Connection Issues

    For the launch of Diablo 4, you might be experiencing connection issues or will be unable to connect if the servers are down.

    If you run into connection issues it might be worth just waiting a bit. Although the developers are confident that a smooth launch will take place, anything can happen!
