Boise, ID (CBS2) — Boise State University's cornerback, 21-year-old Jaylen Clark, was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 10. by Boise Police.
Clark was arrested and booked into Ada County Jail on felony attempted strangulation, felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor battery, and misdemeanor false imprisonment.
Boise Police made the arrest after an investigation into a Dec. 17, 2023, report of domestic battery.
Police said that on July 28, 2023, Clark and a woman had a verbal altercation, during which Clark became violent and attempted to strangle her. The woman told police she made several attempts to leave but Clark stopped her. Police said he then chased her with a knife and after the altercation, Clark left and the victim was then able to leave.
His bail was set at $25,000
Mike Walsh, Boise State's Associate Athletic Director, said, “Boise State is aware of the situation and Jaylen Clark has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities as we follow department, university, and Title IX policies.”
